What I Read This Month!
The Pathless Path by Paul Millerd: (5/5)
Ali Abbdal, a really great YouTuber recommended this book so I had to check it out (check out his youtube channel). The Pathless Path describes Paul Milleards life’s journey toward finding fulfilling work through an unconventional path. I loved this book and would highly recommend this book to any high schoolers who might feel lost or scared about the future. That is a feeling that everyone feels, and this book really helped comfort my fear about the future.
CDL Module: The Simple Economics of Fintech
If you didn’t already know, I am a student apprentice for Creative Destruction Labs. This non-profit organization provides programs for several notable STEM companies, such as Ada and Deep Genomics. This session was hosted by Kelly Mathieson, a Chief Client Experience Officer at Digital Asset who prior, spent 26 years at Goldman Sachs. I loved this session and learned about the future of Fintech.
TKS Focus Hackathon
This month, TKS held a hackathon for our focuses, which is the area of technology students spend the most emphasis on. My awesome group (shoutout to Shirley Yang, Rayan Alyousef, Raphael Dacheux, and Tazeem Mahashin) was a merge of nuclear fusion and AI, so we built SmartFusion! SmartFusion uses AI to control sensors in the tokamak to shape the plasma toward a more likely reaction!
I tried my best to fix mistakes that were made in the previous hackathon, such as time management and group dynamic. Therefore, I felt more prepared for his hackathon compared to the other one. Although we didn’t win any prizes, I still had a blast!
New AI Project!
This month for my focus, I trained an AI to play the Snake Game using reinforcement learning! If you’re interested in reading more, check out my article below!
